Vacancies
We are looking for a maintenance gardener with an eye for detail and a passion for greenery. You will ensure that our company gardens and green spaces look perfect all year round. You will work independently, but will also be part of a committed team within the nursery.
As a Gardener at Smits, you play an important role in maintaining the appearance and professionalism of our business location in Molenschot. Thanks to your work, visitors, customers and colleagues find themselves in a well-kept, green and representative environment every day.
As a Container Field Worker, you will work in our container field on a daily basis and contribute to the care, quality and preparation for shipment of our plants and trees. You ensure that everything is neat, structured and on schedule.
You will work both independently and together with colleagues and get the chance to develop further, for example in working with machines.
As an Arboricultural Assistant, you will contribute to the care and quality of our trees and plants. You are active every day in the field and on the container field, helping to correctly process orders and keeping a sharp eye on the condition of our plants.
You work together with colleagues under the guidance of the nursery manager and coordinate with team sales and team logistics where necessary. In busy periods, we tackle things together: everyone helps to get the job done.

We have the expertise to properly transport large plants and literally deliver them to the customer's garden. That includes so much more than just loading and unloading.
As a driver, I want to offer added value to our customers. Not only the best product, but also knowledge and advice. That extra service and after-sales are highly appreciated and create trust.

I ensure that quality is maintained. Among other things, by supervising the people in the field and taking care of the final inspection. All outgoing produce, harvested for sale, passes me first.
I have been working at Smits for almost 15 years now and love working here. I am foreman of the clearing team, but I am also scheduled for pruning and planting. That variety makes the work so much fun. And it's nice that the staff get on well with each other. We have a good time together.

Moreover, we have all facets in-house; from production and sales to transport to the customer. But we are most proud of our employees. Innovation is in full swing within our company. More and more manual work is being taken over by lifting, pruning and planting machines. This makes the work lighter, more pleasant for our people and the quality better and more uniform. For the future, I see many opportunities to further increase our production capacity through various innovations.

I have been in the business for more than 35 years and I am still excited to sell products, which I stand behind to the full 100%. That's what gives me energy.
